A day in NYC

The weather was amazing this weekend and so Felix and I took the kids into the city on the train on Saturday.

The Norwalk train station...

It was a little bright while we waited for the train.

We had packed a lunch and when we arrived at Grand Central, we ate at their dining concourse.

After lunch, Felix and I split up.  Felix took Lucas to FAO Schwartz and I took Liliana to Bloomingdales.  I get an email every Wednesday or Thursday telling me about children's activities in the NYC metro area.  It turns out that Bloomingdales was hosting a princess party.  It was open to the public and it was only for an hour.  I didn't know what to think of it, but I decided to give it a go.  Liliana LOVES princesses, so I knew no matter how impressed (or unimpressed) I was by it, she would love it.

I don't think I have ever been inside of Bloomingdales...real nice place.

Once we got up to the children's floor (8 levels of escalators) I took Liliana's princess dress out of the bag and she put it on.

Getting her face painted.  We arrived early.  They started painting faces 30 min. before everything started.  I was real glad because we were 5th in line and once things really got going, the line was outrageous.

All pretty..

I don't think I can explain how happy and excited she was during this whole time...

They had a mini concert for all the princesses.  Here she is dancing.

She got a flower bracelet balloon...and for $10 we got a princess bag, a magic wand and a CD.  She was thrilled!

Afterwards we met back up with the boys at 59th and Park, and then made our way over to Central Park.

Wouldn't be Central Park without a ride on the carousel!
