Downtown Puerta Vallarta had a great Malecon that we could walk along. It looked back at the hotels where we were staying. The first day we went down it was pretty dreary and started to drizzle.

And then the rain came....

And came....

So we jumped in a cab and went back to the hotel...total time on the Malecon...approx. 15 min.

Two days later, we decided to try again, this time with Nana. Liliana is sporting her hat as we wait in the lobby.
Lucas is less sure about it.
This is La Bodeguita del Medio of Ernest Hemmingway fame. He made it popular in Cuba and now they are a chain of bars in Latin America.
The theme in each one we have been to (this would be number 2) is that people write all over the walls, as you can see here.

Nana brought us luck. Look at that sky...clear view right to the hotels!

There were many sculptures along the Malecon...I found this one particularly interesting.

They also had sand sculptures, which are lit up at night (Felix and I went out on the Malecon one night)

Family picture....
This was taken two days later. Felix and Liliana ventured back to the Malecon when Lucas was not feeling well. Quite the pose little lady!
