Just in case my sand writing is not clear..below it says "Mexico Part 1"

The resort we stayed at was a family resort. It had this AMAZING mini water park for kids. It had a pirate ship, more slides than we could count and something for every age. The kids went at least once a day, and most days twice.

Here' s the pirate ship...

And then there was also a castle that had a huge life size bucket that filled with water and once it was full tipped over and sprayed the whole pool...

The baby slide was Mr Frog. There is video of the kids coming down this at the end of this post.

Felix, Nana and the twins hanging out under the pirate ship and enjoying some shade.

And here is the video of the kids on the slide. At the beginning of the week, they were quite scared of this slide, but they quickly warmed up. As you can see, there were much bigger kids playing all around them, but they held their own quite well.

Getting there....

Before we get to the Mexico pics, I am sure some of you are wondering how the kids did on the flights. We had two legs each way. New York to Houston was a three hour leg followed by a shorter two hour flight to Puerta Vallarta. We had an extremely early flight out of NYC....5:45 am. So you can imagine how early we had to get up. The kids were off schedule completely (picture Liliana running around LaGuardia at 4 am) but they did great considering. We had all planned to sit together (even reserved in advanced) but there were only rows of three on each plane. With the two kids and Nana and ourselves, that made five and there are only four oxygen masks for each row. So we had to split up on each leg. But it worked and I have to say while flying with toddlers is a whole new experience, one which is slightly draining, its so worth it so that they can have these experiences. Here are some travel day pics.

After eating breakfast in Houston, we went over to our gate that had this huge window that the kids could look out of and watch the planes.

Yep, he looks like he was woken up at 2:30 am!

Liliana "reading" during the layover.

Papi and Lucas boarding the flight to Puerta Vallarta. This plane was not full, so we kept the middle seat open and Nana moved to the exit aisle in front of us which gave her lots of leg room.

We finally arrived, our car was waiting for us and it was a quick 10 minute drive to the airport. We checked in and just crashed.

Gearing up...

In anticipation of our upcoming flight to Mexico, we have been getting the twins accustomed to their child headphones so they can be entertained on the plane. This laptop might just save the day!

Summertime and the living is easy....

We took a late afternoon trip to Island Beach yesterday and had a fabulous time. The weather was just right and we stayed right through dinner.

Sono Arts Festival

South Norwalk had its annual Arts Festival this weekend. It was a street fair and since the weather was amazing, we put the kids on the bikes and we rode on down. We enjoyed a nice open air lunch and took in all the sites.

Liliana was mesmerized by the postings of all the dogs for adoption...I can see where this is leading....

Chuck E Cheese

To get out of the house we found the closest Chuck E. Cheese restaurant (not so close) and took the kids for lunch. It was nice, food not as nice, but the twins seemed to have a good time.

Gifts from Chicago

Last weekend, Felix and I enjoyed a rare weekend with friends at a wedding without the kids. While we were away, we picked up these Toy Story 3 sticker books for the twins. The twins seemed to like them upon our return.

18 months!

We got this great coupon for portraits from a friend at church a few weeks ago. I hadn't planned on taking the twins for their 18 mo. pictures, but they were a good bargain. We are finding it harder to get good pics as they are more mobile ...ahh gone are the days of the 6 mo. pics! Lucas was not very happy, but these were two of the better ones. Unfortunately, they are looking down on the first one...but oh well...considering Lucas was crawling away at every chance he had, we are happy with these.

To the beach!

Our gang went to the beach the other night just to play by the water.

Liliana is forever collecting rocks...and they just seem to get bigger.

The boys...

Throwing rocks into the water...that was very quickly approaching us!

Dino Man!

The beach had a free concert the other night and before it began it had some kids entertainment..namely Dino Man. He was a man who spoke about fossils, and had these huge inflatable dinosaurs with him. Felix and I rode down with the twins on our bikes and enjoyed a nice cool night at the beach. Not many pics were taken, but a good time was had by all.

A trip to the zoo..

There is a small local zoo near us and we decided to check it out last week. It was a bit underwhelming, but for the twins it was great. They are too little to see far off and the small exhibits were great for them.

Looking for prairie dogs...

Touching the skull of some animal..I think it was a bear skull...

The aquatics area was great and let the kids get real close.

Liliana's continual fascination with water...

A real crocodile up close...

Don't worry this one is NOT real.

Lucas had a ball..just look at his face!

Play time at Stamford Town Center

We recently spent a good amount of time over two days at the Stamford Mall. We were doing a data transfer with our new computer where the Apple store was transferring all our files from our old computer. Luckily they have a kids playspace which the kids loved!
