Island Beach

Today was a perfect beach day..not too hot (at least in the morning) and no crowds. We hopped the ferry to Island Beach and had a great lunch out on the island. Here are some highlights.

Liliana excited on the boat.

Playing with Papi in the water.

Some fun at the park.

Liliana on a mission to chase down some seagulls...poor little girl...what a losing battle. But she tried and she tried!

Not too sure what this is..some nice meditation on the way back.

Felix and Lucas doing laps on the boat...we had it all to ourselves practically.

Various stages of undress

Liliana is currently going through this stage where she does not like to where clothes, more specifically shirts. Unless it is a onesie that snaps at the bottom..it will be off, no matter how long it takes.

It started out innocently enough....

Today the kids I headed off to Greenwich Library for story and music time specifically for kids under 2. There were a good amount of kids there, and the twins really seemed to enjoy it. Don't have any pictures from the actual group time since I was alone with them and was trying to manage both on my own. Afterwards we went to the play area of the children's library where they were able to play with toys and puzzles.

Afterwards, we headed out to run a few errands before lunch. Upon entering Walmart, I hit the curb with the shopping cart and Lucas (who was in the back portion of the cart) proceeded to do a full front flip in the air and land on the concrete below screaming. Many people came to my aid...he seemed ok...very scared..but not bleeding at all. To be safe we had him checked out..thanks for meeting us at the doctor Nana! All seems fine. Has a good bump on the side of the head, but that seems to be it. Needless to say, riding in the back of the cart is out of the question from now on. Giving thanks tonight that it wasn't much worse.

Italian Festival

This was the first day that it has not been sunny in quite some time. Unfortunately our morning plans with the Seltzer-Nose clan were hampered due to passing storms. By the afternoon, the kids were going stir crazy in the house and so we decided to take the kids down to the local Italian Festival for a few hours.

This slide seemed much bigger once we got the twins up to the top..but they liked it.

Then it was the kids and I in the helicopters.

Everyone seemed happy and ready for the carousel.

That quickly changed for Lucas who wanted off about 30 seconds into the ride.

Liliana liked it though...

Ferris Wheel Time!!!

See the clouds looming in the background...

Off to the cars with Papi.

We enjoyed a quick swing ride and got home and avoided the rain. Good times!

still trying to stay cool

Just some pics of the kids in the yard trying to cool off in the shade during this heatwave.

Lucas is racing out of the pool here in fear of the sprinkler that will passing over shortly...we had to disconnect that...

Some exploring on the rock...

A cool night at the pool

To try and escape the heat, Felix and I took the twins to the pool this evening. This picture is pretty blurry, but there are three pools..the baby pool which is closest, then a family pool and then a deep lap swim pool. We went around 5 when most people had gone home. Liliana and Lucas are still quite small compared to many of the kids in the baby pool, so it helps to have fewer kids around.

Afterwards we dried off and enjoyed a picnic dinner and some much needed breeze.

So hungry they are unpacking dinner all on their own...hmmm..this looks good!

Trying to stay cool.

There's a massive heatwave hitting the east coast right now and we are doing our best to stay cool. We went to the pool yesterday and spent a few hours down at the water at the beach today with some other twins-fun! But since having the twins around any form of water means watching them like a hawk, pictures aren't really possible. Liliana especially is fearless and will walk right into the Sound with no thought that it might be dangerous.

So since we have no pics of our water fun, here is a picture of them heading out to church on Sunday. Wagon is the preferred mode of transport these days. Below is a better shot of Liliana's dress...she wouldn't stay still for a picture, but you can see how nice she looked, even if you cannot see her face..lol. Thanks Nana.

Happy Fourth of July

Well it was really the third, but who cares....

We took the kids down to the beach for the town fire works. We weren't too sure how they would do since it meant they would be out until almost 11 pm. But with a long late nap and lots of music and people to distract them, they did great. Even when the fireworks started. Here are some pics.

Triathlon season!

While we cannot train the way we used to...Felix and I entered a race as a relay this past weekend. I swam and Felix ran and biked. We raced up at the Brady residence (friend from college) It was a great weekend...and I think I could really get used to this relay thing.

Here is a pic of us before the race at the pond where I swam.

Cooling off in the hot weather

Again..those on FB, this is the same video. Enjoy.

Bike Riding

Felix recently purchase this great seat for the bike. It allows you to bike with your child in FRONT of you..as opposed to behind you which is the more traditional route. This makes the bike more stable and much more safe. The kids seem to love it..check it out!

Little Cosette

For those of you who don't know...I LOVE Les Miserables...know every word. Liliana was on the porch this afternoon sweeping with the broom and singing to herself and I thought she looked like a toddler sized version of little Cosette in the play.

Morning in the park

This morning after breakfast we headed down to Bruce Park to see the Dorrian family and have a play date. A nice relaxing morning for all. Below are pics of the twins in the sandbox which was a big hit.

Before and After

As some of you may know by now...Lucas got a drastic haircut yesterday. My plan was to trim down his hair, since it was getting very poofy and looking more like a bird's nest than anything else. I use Felix's shears that he uses to trim his hair and although I used the lowest setting, it cut quite shorter than I anticipated. Take a look....

Obviously before....

and after....

But not to worry..if you like curls...Liliana's still got 'em. And hers aren't going anywhere!

Happy Memorial Day!

We are back up and running. We got our new computer today and it is AMAZING. So much easier to upload pictures, organize them and everything. Here are some pictures from the Memorial Day Parade this past Monday.
