Friday marked the last real day of work for me...while I do have to go in on Monday and Tuesday, my work is done. The kids are gone, my grade book is closed, report cards entered online so not too sure what I am going to do for two days, but in I will go.
Due to that fact and the fact that it was so nice outside, we decided to make an evening of outdoor activities.
I took the kids to the pool for a quick swim before dinner.
After changing, and grabbing a bite to eat at the pool (and meeting up with Felix) we all headed over to the Yankee Doodle Fair in Westport. Melissa and Doug (of Melissa and Doug toy fame) live in Westport and frequently sponsor kids' activities in the area. They had a whole tent and play area at the fair.
The kids are old enough now to go on most kid rides by themselves. We weren't sure about these elephants though since they go up so high. I could just see one of the screaming their heads off while their elephant was stuck in the air...
But they were great! Had a ball!
The three of us went on the dizzy dragon ride.
More Melissa and Doug tent fun...
And we finished the night with two rides altogether down the big slide.
