More Fun...

While Pete and his family were here, we tried to show them some of the things we like to do.  So we took them to library storytime and craftime.  We made fireworks in honor of July 4th.

Later that evening we went to the Levitt Pavilion for an outdoor kids concert.  We had a nice dinner outside while we listened and danced to some fun music.

Nashville comes to Norwalk!

Pete and his kids arrived on Sunday night...or I guess I should say Monday morning (1am!)  The first day was all rain and we basically spent the day relaxing, eating a lot of food and watching a lot of tv.  But come Tuesday, we were out and about with a whole gaggle of kids.  The van fit everyone, carseats and all...perfect!

We first went to Shady Beach to ride our scooters and just run around.  The kids had been couped up all day and it was good for them to get out and let some energy out.

Unfortunately, there was a dead squirrel on the scooter path, which attracted a lot of attention.

Then we were off to Compo Beach since they have a better playground.  Keeping track of five kids in a semi-enclosed  non-enclosed playground was interesting, but we didn't lose anyone.

That evening, Nana and Connie and Wendy came over for a ziti dinner.

A quiet Sunday..

Felix was off playing golf all Sunday, so we went to church and then after a nap, headed over to Compo Beach for a nice relaxing afternoon and early dinner.

Spain wins!

On Saturday, we went over to David and Giovanna's house (the other Gomez family) to watch some Euro Cup soccer.  Malena and Alessandro had fun playing with our twins...

David and Giovanna have a great pool and they didn't hesitate to jump right in.

All the Gomez twins....

Afterwards, it was a little cafe-like setting for pizza and Barney.

The rest of our Friday...

After making sure Liliana was aok, we went out for the rest of the afternoon.  We bought some passes to Kids U (where the kids had their birthday party) so that they could use their playquad throughout the summer.  Basically it's like a big indoor multi-level obstacle course.

Afterwards, we headed over to the library for story and a craft.

The kids made these flowers out of cupcake liners and popiscle sticks.  I brought them over to Grandpa at Edgehill Rehabilitation to put in his room.

Just to add a little twist to all our fun....

Because we do not have enough going on....Friday morning Liliana woke up looking like this....

On top of this,  she had major swelling and redness behind her right knee.  Seems like a bite did both jobs, but we went to the docs just to be sure.  The eye they were not too concerned about and they were sure the knee would be fine, that it probably was just fluid build up due to swelling from a bug bite.  But they sent us off to x-ray just in case.  Last thing we needed was a broken leg without knowing about it.  She was a great sport and all xrays were negative....good news.

Another hodgepodge of a day....

On Thursday, we were off to Aiko's in the morning to cool off in her backyard.  Sprinkler fun and hose games kept the kids quite occupied..

Afterwards, we headed down to Felix's school to pick him up.

Lucas being loved on by Felix's secretary.

We made a quick stop over to Aba's house...

And finished the night with chinese at the beach with the (other) Gomez family.  Giovanna and I are training for a triathlon so the men watched the kids while Giovanna and swam the race course.

Trying to beat the heat with Monkey Monkey Music...

It was hot on Wednesday..real hot.  In the morning, the twins played on the back patio in the baby pool (they are really getting too big for this)

In the afternoon, we went to the library to hear a kids band called Monkey Monkey Music.....

I felt a little bad....not a lot of kids showed up, maybe about eight.  The leader of the band kept saying "We'll wait for more people to show up before we start....."  It was a little awkward.  But the kids loved it.  I guess she and her band are some big hit on public television.  Unfortunately, we only watch Disney Junior these days.

Graduation 2012

Tuesday was graduation at my school.  I picked up the twins and brought them since we were going to the math department party afterwards.

All the graduates ready to enter.

Afterwards running around in the hallways...

Afterwards, the math department had a end of year beach party at Jennings Beach in Fairfield.  Here Felix and the twins are making the long trek to across the sand to our picnic spot.

We have a lot of children in the department...

It was a great relaxing way to end the year and begin the summer.  Margaritas on the beach...who says math teachers don't have fun?

Father's Day....Ireland Style

We started off Father's Day with a nice breakfast and cards, but I forgot to take pics.  Oops.
Afterwards, it was off to church...scootering in style.

In the afternoon, we headed over to the Irish Festival at Fairfield University.  We had to take a shuttle bus, which was a real school bus.  Never realized this before, but there are no seat belts on school buses.  Doesn't that seem strange?

Enjoying the bagpipes.

Lots of inflatable gyms...

This one was an obstacle course that the kids go into and you just have to wait for them to come out...a little nervewracking...

crafts in the kids' tent.

Afterwards, they had a children's Irish dance group perform.

They even invited the kids on stage to learn a dance.  The twins were all for it...Lucas was the only brave boy (or maybe those Irish fathers wanted their sons to have nothing to do with dancing..who knows...lol!)
