Derby Day!

Well, it's been three years, but the Derby party is back!  The twins the morning of..it was a low key morning since we had an action packed afternoon

We just invited our friends, but then we started to realize that the kids almost outnumbered the adults....thank goodness we had good weather!

We had a little OTB of our own.  Everyone who came picked a horse blindly (the names were covered up)  Right before the Derby was about to run, we unveiled the names and people got to see who their horse was.

After the derby, it was pinata time!

Ahh!!!  Pinata is broken!  Lucas looks a little upset in the background here, but he seemed all smiles during it.  Maybe it was just the shot.

A busy day...

Friday was a day with a lot going on.  Felix and I headed off early in the morning to Six Flags New England with my school for Senior Day.  Spent the day riding rollercoasters with Felix and my students.  Such  fun...no lines...no rain...couldn't have asked for more.

After heading back home and a quick nap and shower, I went down to Stamford to see The Sound of Music with Mom, Connie and Wendy at the Kweskin Theater.  It was such a great performance.  I was pleasantly surprised.

Switch up

The other night, after storytime, Liliana joked that she was going to sleep in Lucas' bed, which then led Lucas to joke that he was going to sleep in Liliana's bed.  I said "sure, why not?" and they were highly amused as I allowed them to climb into the other's crib.  They slept like this for two nights but were very silly and each night stayed up for hours talking and laughing.  So we switched back..but it was fun while it lasted.  

To the docs...

Took Lucas to the doctor today.  It was an allegergist and asthma specialist to see exactly what we are dealing with in terms of Lucas.  (He is actually feeling great now)  They did a bunch of tests and the good news is that it appears that he is NOT allergic to any outside source (dust,mold, pollen, ragweed,etc.)  And the good news is that this seems all viral induced, although we need to monitor how much of it exercise induced.  More waiting and watching and maybe this little guy will outgrow it all one day.

Dress Shopping

The other day Liliana and I went out dress shopping.  I had to get a dress or two since all my dresses are from my pre-baby triathlon fit days and well, there's some need for new ones.  So I decided to take Liliana out with me and we both bought something for ourselves.

After we were done and I had gotten what I needed we went to buy her a dress...this is the one she picked out.  She wore it to church on Sunday.

It was a little cold out so we put her cardigan on her....she had a ball modeling for the camera...

Spring Fests!

Well it seems as if we can make quite a day of it just reading the paper and finding out where these kids fests are going to be around town.  Yesterday there were two...one in Westport and one in Norwalk.  They both focus on promoting healthy eating and activity in young kids, and there is always a ton for the kids to do....first stop Westport.

Then it was up to the gymnastics center.  Not too sure where all the kids were...we had the entire place to ourselves for a while.

We stopped by Norwalk briefly...Lucas got to sit on top of a real motorcycle.

Aba's here!

This past week, Aba came to visit.  The twins were VERY excited and she brought and alphabet/number puzzle for them.

The animals are back!

The animals came back to Stew's this week!  Each Spring they have a welcome back party and so of course we went.

Our hotel was right on the beach...which made for some great views and easy access to fun.  We went to the beach on Tuesday morning..pretty much deserted.  It was plenty warm, but I guess people were working, in school, etc....

The water was VERY cold...way too cold for swimming and the twins seemed to think it was too cold to even fetch some water in their pails.  Tia Wendy was very helpful in helping them get water.

And one night we got to gymnastics practice to see Sarah and Katie do their stuff.  Very cool and very fun to see them in their element.

Kangaroo Jacs

Well, it turns out that Vicki's friend Randy owns a company called Kangaroo Jac's.  It's a place that has inflatable playgrounds for kids to bounce and climb on.  It was a little rainy and windy on Wednesday, so it was great to have free passes to go play.  Thanks Randy!

Liliana was fearless..she even climbed up this really steep part of the biggest structure there.  I was a bit apprehensive, but before I could worry too much, she was up to the top.

Not to be outdone, Lucas wanted to try, but was a bit more hesitant...

But off and away he went.....

Dinner with the VA Sullivans

On Tuesday evening, we headed out to see Vicki and the girls for dinner.

On Monday morning, the twins, Nana and my sisters and I headed out for a few days in VA beach.  The ride was easy enough to do in a day and still take our time.  

We stayed at the boardwalk...right on the water.  This was the view from our room.

Poor guy...there was some crazy trigger in the air down in VA which made for some rough respiratory problems...but we had the nebulizer, which helped a bit.
