Oyster Festival

This weekend we went to the Oyster Festival here in Norwalk.....its a big fair with vendors, games, live music and LOTS of food!

They had some soldier vs. pirate show going on...these soldiers were "shooting" at that boat in the distance....a whole lot of action as we ate dinner by the water.

It was a little muddy.  Apparently Lucas thought that if pulled up his shorts, they would get less muddy...

Grateful...

Today was a sad day.  September 11th usually is, but I think the 10th anniversary added to impact this year.  I went to two beautiful services at our church today.  They were both moving and profound.  Walking home this evening from the memorial service, I was thinking how thankful I am to have Lucas and Liliana in our lives.  They are two little lights of love, completely innocent and full of happiness and joy. It is so nice to have a part of my life that has not been touched by 9/11.  They are completely unaware of today's meaning, and part of me is grateful for that, and for the joy and love they have brought to our lives.

The whole past week has basically been rain.  Day in and day out.  Friday was absolutely gorgeous and the sun was out and the sky was blue.  So after I got back from work, we took the kids to Bruce Park and let the kids play for hours.  We even brought a picnic dinner and let them eat down there. 

Afterwards I stopeed by to see Aiko and Steve and their little newborn girl Emme.  So precious.  She and mom are doing well.  They are staying at Greenwich Hospital and Emme is in the NICU, so it brought so much back for me.  But it was great to see that little bundle of joy.  Welcom to the world Emme!

The other week we were in Target and we saw these wall decals.  The kids' walls are looking a bit bare, so I decided to buy them.  They are easy on and easy off....so when they outgrow them, they will come off very easily.  

Bowling!

Felix recently took the kids bowling.  Seemed to be a great hit..they talk about it often.  Not only did they have the bumpers, they had a dinosaur structure that the kids used to roll the ball off of.  Good times!

We have had this play tent for the past two years.  We just found it again while cleaning out the garage.  A new toy for the front yard!

Sunday Best

We haven't been to church in a while between Lake George, my triathlon, Irene and such.  The twins looked quite cute when they were all ready on the driveway before we left so I snapped this pic.  When did they get so big?

Compo Beach

Aileen and Stacy and her girls arrived early this morning and we were all at the beach by 10. It was a great day, and we stayed at the beach until 4 pm. The twins did not nap, but they were having a ball.

We have a large amount of juice boxes since we stocked up before the hurricane.

Everyone headed home this evening and the twins drifted off to sleep more easily than ever tonight. Now we just have a relaxing two more days to enjoy.

Dinner at the beach.

Jen, Brian and Neha came down from Boston this evening to spend a beach weekend here in CT. More Union College buds are coming tomorrow, but for this evening, we ordered pizza and had one of the last dinners on the beach for the summer.

No swimming this time, since it was pretty cool, but playing on the beach nonetheless.

Nana's Home!

Last night we went to Westchester County Airport to pick up Nana who was coming in from DC (from Japan). The airport has this fabulous observation deck that we could watch all planes taking off and landing. It was a nice way to spend our time.
