Backwards pjs...

Liliana is in a phase where she loves to take off all her clothes at night. We turn the heat down quite a bit and if she is just in her diaper, it can get very cold. We would inevitably walk into the nursery at night and see her there with no clothes on. We didn't want to wake her to redress her, but throwing a blanket on her doesn't do much as she rolls around a lot at night. So my friend Ann suggested we put her PJs on backward so the zipper and snap are in the back.

Worked like a charm!

Some fresh air...

It has finally warmed up just a bit here. Today the kids played outside quite a bit...even went and said hello to our neighbors with twins Lucas and Josephine who are only 3 months ahead of our twins.

While I cooked dinner, the twins were out on the porch playing, enjoying the extra hour of late sunlight.

The Mall and the Daubners!

We went to the Danbury Mall today to take the twins' 2 year pictures (those to come!). Afterwards we took a ride on the carousel. The twins weren't too sure about the whole moving carousel, big horses going up and down and all. So we opted to seat on seats instead.

Liliana still looks pretty suspicious.

Lucas and Papi in the teacup.

Much happier now that they were off.

We went to the Daubner's (Pete's in laws) for lunch. They have a whole playroom for Caeley and Elijah (who are arriving tonight!) so we had some fun down there.

Liliana even practiced her ping-pong game.

Thanks for a great lunch Elaine and Pete!

Wild Horse!

Well, if you have seen Pete's blog then you know just how much fun this night was for us. Such a good time...good food, good friends and family and great music! Here are some highlights. The movie we have won't upload for some reason, but its on FB for those of you on there...

Nashville Library...

We actually went to the Nashville Library TWICE during our visit. It is one of the most beautiful libraries I have ever been to. The first day we were just spending some time on a rainy day complete with....

an esculator ride...

puppet show...

computer lessons...

bead fun...

and not to forget water fountain drinks...

The next time we went back was for a short production of Alice in Wonderland. They have this amazing children's theatre....and although Nashville schools were not on vacation, there were close to 100 people there. All of this is free and open to the public...

Afterwards...PIZZA HUT! All you can eat buffet...and they ATE!!!

Zoo!

A year and a half ago we visited the Nashville Zoo and this time we were back for more....such a different experience with two year olds...

2009.....

2011

It was a little chilly..in the 50s so not all the exhibits were open....but we saw a lot.

At the meerkat exhibit..

In the bamboo forest....

Looking at fish...

At the petting zoo...

And finally funny faces at lunch...

So serious...so serious...

Mami and Papi are leaving the twins in Pete and Christie's hands tomorrow and having an evening out in Nashville. Won't be back until the next day...stay tuned for more pics....(just not from out night out! lol)

On the Road

Well, we left for the first leg of our trip at 4 am in a wall of snow. Seems that we were getting more than they predicted, and it was slow going for about the first hour. As the day wore on, the temp climbed into the sixties as we headed further south. We drove 9 hours the first day and only stopped once for a late breakfast Denny's style! The kids were great and enjoyed their new DVD system.

That evening at the hotel, we took the kids swimming. They were total fish! Jumping in from the side, heads under the whole deal and begging for more. After abot 45 minutes, against their wishes, we went back up to the room, but let them "swim" around in the bath tub much to their pleasure. Sorry no pics of the pool, but they are pretty high maintenance around water and neither one of us was free to hold a camera let alone take a picture.

Entertaining toddlers in a hotel room is harder than we thought. We brought toys to keep them occupied...

And of course there was a nighttime screening of cartoons complete with Goldfish!

We left the next morning and made good time to arrive at Pete's around 2. Today we are off to the zoo! Stayed tuned....

Breaking up is hard to do....

This evening we took one of our highchairs down from the attic. We leave for TN in a few days and we are bringing the chair to Pete's house for Timothy-the newest addtion to their family!

Liliana insisted on sitting in the chair for most of the hour before and after dinner (we wouldn't let her sit in it for dinner...my days of cleaning high chairs are over!)

Below is a look back to the pic I took the very first day I put her in the chair....

New cups!

Kids got new cups today...ones with straws. We tried this over the summer but we couldn't find ones that would not leak when they were put down. These seem to do the trick. They are still getting used to it being a straw cup and all (not being able to tilt their head back, etc.)

And by the way....Liliana's new hang out is the pantry...in the dark...with the lights off...at least she won't be afraid of the dark.

WOW!

We decided to try out our DVD player in the van this weekend for the ride down to the Super Bowl party. We put the kids in the van, put the screen down and turned it on. Liliana's first words were "wow!" followed by a second "wow!" and then a third. This was a major treat for the kids and they seemed to love it. Nothing is cuter than riding in the car listening to them count aloud..."uno! dos! tres!" Very cool!

Super Bowl Party...

Josh and Marika (Liliana's godparents) had a super bowl party yesterday so we headed out. It was a family style party, which was a lot of fun.

Are you ready for some football?

Pre-game dinner of champions.

Meeting of the minds....

Liliana and Charlotte....

Some card game I didn't understand...

Dance party at half time (Black Eyed Peas style!)

Uh oh....

Double uh oh....

Saying hi to the cat....

Thanks Marika and Josh for a great time!
