The twins are starting to respond to us when we talk to them, hence the ability to take pics with their eyes wide open looking at you! These were taken on my phone, so they are a little dark (aren't you impressed that I can upload pics from my phone to my blog? lol!)

Felix' s mother, aunt and uncle came to visit the other day. Here is his Aunt and Uncle..

You can't really see it in the pic, but I am reading People en Espanol...helps me with my Spanish...and I get to learn about all the latino celebrities!

Felix's mom with Liliana...

We actually had more visitors later in the week. Josh and Marika, whose wedding we met at were here as was Robin, my friend from work. But we have no pictures..next time...
I am slowly trying to transition to being able to handle the twins on my own..since that is what will need to eventually happen. Felix is on vacation this week, so I have a lot of help. He went to Foxwoods today though, to play a little poker, and so it gave me a good chance to learn how to manage with these two effectively. If both babies wake up at the same time, then I can nurse them simultaneously...but if one is sleepy, they will be lazy about eating and it just prolongs the whole process. So today, Lucas was raring to go..I changed him, but then had to put him down before I nursed him so I could go get his medicine. It was amazing, he was crying at the top of his lungs, Liliana was lying right next to him sound asleep and didn't even flinch! He was really wailing and looking at her you would never know it.

Happy Easter!
We didn't take the twins to church today..too many people. But Nana came with Connie and Wendy and gave Felix and I a wonderful treat of watching the twins as we went shopping at the Clinton Crossing outlets..not a very "Easter-like" activity, but it was a lot of fun!
When we returned, Nana had set up these gifts for the twins from the Easter Bunny.

We took the twins out to Good Friday mass this week. They got all bundled up and we carried them with the Baby Bjorns as we walked down to church.

See Lucas is eating his shirt! Liliana is ready to go!

And no, we are not going to put pics of breastfeeding on here...but they were much happier afterwards!

and finally, this should have made an earlier post, but I have been lazy with the blog. Taryn came by to visit this week. Taryn teaches with me at Staples High School in Westport and not only is she pregnant, but she is expecting boy/girl twins in July! (Taryn and I are two of five women pregnant in the math department this year!!) We obviously had a lot to talk about. Taryn looks great...and is doing way better than I was at that stage. Thanks for visiting Tar!
They were wonderful during the service which was great since there were many times of complete silence. However, once we got them home, and undressed a bit, the let loose...they were very hungry and both wanted to eat at the same time. Felix had left to get us sandwiches from Subway, so I was on my own.

The pillow you see here is a special pillow for nursing two babies at one time..the Boppy doesn't cut it. I was in the process of getting them "arranged" when Felix walked in and started snapping away...

Positioning two infants can be hard when they are ravenously hungry....

We have been just hanging out the past few days...the weather has been crummy.
Liliana has been having trouble getting a burp out after her feedings, so Nana resorted to a new style of burping...

She seemed to take to it well...

Tonight, we heard Lucas whining, we went over to his crib only to see why..."Help I have fallen in my Boppy pillow and I can't get up!" That's what happens when you squirm around so much little man!

And finally Liliana was just relaxing on Papi's chest tonight..

And dozed off to sleep...

A Pack and Play for each...
The twins have been sharing a pack and play in the living room since they came home. The upper shelf of the bassinette feature only holds 15 pounds though. Yesterday, at a follow up visit for Lucas at the doctor, he weighed just under 8 pounds, which meant we were pushing the weight limit. So we dragged out the other pack and play and now they each have one! (they are still too small to put them in the lower level near the ground)

The crib we have by our bed, however has an upper shelf limit of 30 pounds, so at night, they are still able to sleep together.

Both babies LOVE the Boppy pillow and since we only had one, we went out and bought a second yesterday. Last night, with each having their own pillow, both babies slept almost 6 hours through the night without a sound. For someone who hasn't slept more than 3 hours straight since January 30th, this was amazing! Never knew how much I would treasure six straight hours of sleep!
And finally, Felix was snapping away last night. Lucas always has this "deer in headlights" look about him..especially when it is time to eat!

A look back..
Thought it would be interesting to look back at the comparison of the twins in the same outfits. On the bottom is the picture of Liliana and Lucas two days after Lucas came home from the NICU that first week. And the picture on the top was taken yesterday. (Lucas and Liliana have switched positions) They are almost outgrowing these ever so adorable twin shirts.

Lazy Day
Anyone who lives remotely near the northeast knows how yucky today was. And it just so happened to be my first full day home alone with the twins. They were very nice to their mother. They slept most of the day which meant so could I!

A good day to stay inside and be cozy with Papi when he comes home....
