Storm Aftermath....

The sun was shining this morning as we surveryed the damage from the storm.  The snow was so wet and so heavy and there were many leaves still on the trees so branches fell all around the yard and in the streets.  Our playground took a beating, but it's durable and should be fine.

cozy on the couch

These pics were actually take a little while ago.  We have been trying to give some outdoor time, even in the cold.  But in the evenings, they curl up on the couch and watch one of two favorites...Pinnochio or The Lion King.  Fun!

Snow!

This post was supposed to be Halloween Part 2, but none of that happened today.  By mid morning, the snow had started.  The twins were very excited and went out to play a little.

Warming up by the fire afterwards...

We were supposed to go to a Halloween party sponsored by the Mothers of Multiples group I belong to.  They cancelled the party about 30 minutes before it was to start.  We were disappointed as were the kids, so we decided to take them on a quick visit to the museum.  Suprisingly, we were not the only ones who dragged out kids out in the weather...there were a good amount of people there.

Fishing....

Lucas and his trains...(shh...I think a train table may be in the works for Christmas)

Sword fight!

When we got home, we discovered we had no power.  After playing in the snow for a little while longer, changing in to warm pjs and having a PB and J dinner, the twins spent some time playing by the fire.  We are lucky to have the wood burning stove which keep our house at a balmy 75 degrees with NO heat on.  The twins just sat by the fire and played with their Dora and Thomas figurines.

Grandpa gave Felix and I this lightbulb a few years ago.  Its a bulb which works on batteries, and since it is not made out of glass, it never gets hot and is ideal around young children.  The twins were fascinated by it...thanks Grandpa!

p.s. power came back on shortly after the kids went to bed....phew!

Halloween Part 1

Let the festivities begin!
The other night I brought home Happy Meals for the kids and they came in these plastic pumpkins that the kids could then decorate with stickers.

This evening Stew was having trick or treating at the store.  The kids are dressing as a cow and and dog this year.  Liliana doesn't look too happy in these pics...but she was excited as ever.

The employees of Stew's dressed up for the occasion.

Lucas was thrilled to see Spider Man

And look!  Super Man joined in!

Liliana wasn't too keen about posing with anyone, but Lucas was all about it.  Even posed with these real monsters!

Its supposed to snow tomorrow morning, so we are going to carve our pumpkins then.

Hayride at Stews

Stew Leonard has a hayride that they do around Halloween.  Real cute.  They take you on a tractor ride to the old parking garage where they have it all decorated for the season.

We went on Sunday afternoon....

Turned out to be a good time to go...hardly any line and not very crowded on the tractor.

Some of the attractions.

Happy Birthday Callaway

Callaway is a friend of the twins from our church.  She turned three this week and the kids were invited to her party this weekend.  This is Mr. Bungles...he did magic and balloons and songs and.....

There's Lucas right up front volunteering an answer!

This is Callaway with her birthday doll balloon.  This guy was serious business when it came to balloons!

There was a pinata.  Liliana was first in line after Callaway to hit.

Cake was delicious!

For a goodie bag (or I should say in lieu of) they let the kids each decorate their own pumpkins.  Here are our fine masterpieces.

This is making me start to think about the twins party in January...hmmm...

A day at the Knights.

On Saturday, we went down to Josh and Marika's to visit with them. This will probably be the last time for a good while as their third child is due in three weeks and their house is about to become very busy!  There were some identical twins from down the street who also came to play.

Josh and Marika have two HUGE playspaces in their house..and of course someone else's toys are always more exciting than ours.

The children's dinner table...our children were the only non-blondes to attend.

We had a cake for Felix since his birthday is next week.  Learned the roman numeral for 50 is L. "3Lix" is his poker nickname.
