Well, as most of you know by now, I was sent to the hospital the other night due to extreme pain in my lower right adominal area. What I thought was food poisoning earlier on in the day turned out to be something more serious. When I got to the hospital, they did a CT scan (or was it CAT scan...I don't remember) and confirmed that indeed my appendix needed to come out. It was a laproscopic surgery meaning they made a small incision in my belly button and took the whole thing out through there...pretty interesting. I spent about a day and a half in the hospital. For reasons still not completely clear to me, I was put on the pediatric floor. They clearly knew I was not under 18, and I heard two things: 1. They wanted to give me a private room, so they put me in the very scarcely populated pediatric unit and 2. Since I wasn't staying long, they wanted to keep the beds in the surgical unit free for people who had to recover for a long time. Either way I didn't mind it. It was quiet, I had my own room and the nurses seemed happy to deal with me, an adult, who hardly ever bothered them. I am home now and feeling pretty good...a little sore, but ok.
Below are some pics of when Felix came to visit with the kids. Felix is getting as good as I am now with bringing the camera...he purposely brought it on the visit so that we could blog about this...funny.

some scooter riding...
The weather has been so nice lately....wouldn't know fall was in the air. Christina got these nice pics of the twins riding their scooters on the driveway. They are getting quite good...maybe they should have their helmets on? Hmmm....

85 degrees!
I came out of school today and it was sunny and 85 degrees! Too nice of weather to pass up, so of to Compo Beach for the afternoon.
Liliana is all about the "big kid" swing...no more baby swing thank you very much!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the playground.......
Something about this picture below took me by surprise. He looks like such a big kid here.
They played all afternoon and into the evening...came home starving and after dinner and a hot bath, were asleep quite easily!

Petco
The kids are fond of anything animal these days. Petco is a great place to spend time with them. They get to look at the animals (mostly guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, fish and turtles). We spent some good time a Petco during Hurrican Irene when we had no power.

Silverman's Farm
We went to Silverman's Farm in Easton today. It was a great day to go in that it was cloudy and well before Halloween. Hardly a crowd!
The farm has a great petting zoo (we went last year so some of this might look familiar)
At the playground.
Making their way through the halloween maze.

Look who Lucas found! Its Thomas the Train!(or a weak resemblance of him)
On the antique tractor.
Browsing in the pumpkin patch
Then we went apple picking. We took a tractor wagon ride all the way up this big hill. In this pic you can see the land below (that's where the petting zoo is)

Beat the rain home....we might be back later this season with friends, but regardless, we did everything we wanted. (I am going to try and bake an apple pie with all these apples!)
Lion King!
The Disney classic The Lion King is back in theaters for two weeks. Last night we had a family movie night and went to see it. It is playing in 3D, but we didn't think the twins would last for an hour and a half with glasses, so we saw the regular version.
We decided to go to the theater in Port Chester..nice theaters with stadium seating.
Their only treat was seltzer water, but they though it was so much fun to have a big drink to share!
The twins did a great job..lasted really well.
