I flew home last Saturday since I had to be at work on Monday. Felix, his mother and the twins, started up by car that morning. They spent two days near Atlanta visiting with friends from Cuba. Here are the last highlights from the trip.

Breakfast at South Beach
The most famous part of South Beach is Ocean Drive. This is where Versace's house is and where all the great nightlife is in Miami Beach. This was our first trip back to Miami Beach since the twins were born, and needless to say, we did not partake in the nightclub scene. During the day, Ocean Drive is beautiful as well. So one morning, we decided to skip breakfast in our room and drove down to Ocean Drive for a nice breakfast on the water.
The restaurant had these benches with pillows and the kids were pretending they were sleeping....after all, what else do you do with pillows?
There was a nice park across the way right on the beach so we went there before heading back to the hotel for some beach time.

Nelly's and Happy Birthday Alejandro!
Our next morning started off with our typical beach activity.
We left in the early afternoon to go to Nelly's house. This is another friend of Felix's mother from Cuba.
After Nelly's we headed back to Alejandro's. It was his brithday and there were a lot of family and friends to catch up with. Lucas and Liliana playing basketball with Alejandro's kids (Alejandrito and Nicole)

Day 1 = perfect!
The weather here is not to believed. Its about 86 everyday, no humidity. The water in the ocean is cool and perfect...all the stars aligned for this trip it seems.
We tend to spend our mornings at the pool and the beach before going up for lunch and letting the kids nap. We have a kitchenette in our room, so the kids have their lunch (as do we) and they are out.
This is Felix's mom and her friend Orcidia. They haven't seen each other in years. They were friends back in Cuba and taught together. Both of Orcidia's children are the same age as Felix and his sister.

First stop -Warner Robins, GA
We left at around 6 pm on Friday night and drove straight through. GPS said 14 hours non-stop, so we figure with stopping it would be about 17. 20 hours later, we arrived in GA. We hit a lot of late night construction, which cost us a few hours. The twins were great in the car and as out of whack I was sleep wise, I think it was a lot easier than trying to do it all in the daytime.
Hanging out at the hotel in GA.
The second day we were there, we went strawberry picking with Felix's cousin Freddy and his family. It was a gorgeous introduction to the amazing weather that awaited us.
Liliana had a tight bond with Freddy's son Javier (the ring bearer at our wedding-he's a little bigger now, no?)
