Well, we left for the first leg of our trip at 4 am in a wall of snow. Seems that we were getting more than they predicted, and it was slow going for about the first hour. As the day wore on, the temp climbed into the sixties as we headed further south. We drove 9 hours the first day and only stopped once for a late breakfast Denny's style! The kids were great and enjoyed their new DVD system.
That evening at the hotel, we took the kids swimming. They were total fish! Jumping in from the side, heads under the whole deal and begging for more. After abot 45 minutes, against their wishes, we went back up to the room, but let them "swim" around in the bath tub much to their pleasure. Sorry no pics of the pool, but they are pretty high maintenance around water and neither one of us was free to hold a camera let alone take a picture.
Entertaining toddlers in a hotel room is harder than we thought. We brought toys to keep them occupied...
And of course there was a nighttime screening of cartoons complete with Goldfish!
We left the next morning and made good time to arrive at Pete's around 2. Today we are off to the zoo! Stayed tuned....
