Advent Fair!

We recently had an Advent Fair at our church. I was in charge of making 6 dozen cookies for kids to be able to decorate....got the house smelling like gingerbread....fine by me! I went down early to help out and Felix came down later with the twins so they could see it all. The arts and crafts were a bit beyond them...but they had a good time running around.

Liliana wanting to get in on the cookie action. (interesting side note: the African American girl in this picture has a mother who is from Barbados...where I taught for a short while. Her mother is good friends with the Williams family who I stayed with...small world, well, small island at least)

Papi is always finding balloons!

Uh oh! who spilled the Cheerios?

Not me!!!

Having a grand old time!

Thankful Part 3....

Pete and his family came over today (as did the rest of the local Sullivan clan). It was a cold day. Good day to spend inside with family and a warm fire..although a late afternoon walk was made to Stew's to stroll through the Christmas Shop.

Thankful Part 2...

Today we had a quiet morning and then after lunch we were off to NJ to see Natacha and the rest of the family who would be at her house. It was a great afternoon, and we even had a puppy surprise us!

Thankful Part 1...

We had a very relaxed Turkey Day. Went to church, watched the parade (on the DVR) and enjoyed a nice meal. Turkey turned out well. I tried to brine it last year, but that didn't seem to have the effect I wanted, so I went old school with just butter and it came out great. (Forgot to take a pic before we carved it...ooops)

We have had a rare spotting of this strange creature....more updates to follow....

Yeah! The museum is open!

Our Children's museum was closed and under construction for three months. They just reopened and it is FABULOUS!!! So nicely redone...it's great.

Don't know what Liliana is about with this face....funny though.

They still have a fish tank but its so much bigger and so much more fun.

Cool musical instruments area....

We purchased a tile on their wall to support the renovation. You could submit your kids artwork, but the twins were too young at the time, so we just had their names put up...can you see it? It's the blue square...

There it is...(we didn't get to pick the tile color, but Felix LOVES the blue...his favorite color)

Afterwards we went outside and played with the big bouncy balls...

Lucas liked this the most I think..

He had fun knocking all the chess pieces over.

Conichiwa!

Nana just came back from Japan. She picked up two fantastic outfits for the twins...check them out!

Feeling yucky...

Not too sure what it is. Think it's teeth. Lots of gnawing on fingers, especially in the molar region. Lots of laying around, working through a fever.

Easy does it.

The twins are slowly mastering the art of using a spoon. Tonight's dinner of mashed potatoes, chicken, ham and vegetables was the perfect consistency for practicing.

Liliana topped off the meal with a potato facial. Small steps.....

All Saints Day

While All Saints Day was earlier this week, the church celebrated it this Sunday. Last year the twins were baptized on All Saints Day. So, in respect of the holy day at church I dressed them up real nice for church (a little nicer than usual) . They were good sports.

Afterwards, Dad, Silvia, Wendy and Connie came over for lunch. The twins were all out of whack due to the time change so they went down for a nap pretty quickly, so we weren't able to get any pictures of Dad and Silvia with the kids. But when they woke up we were able to snap this one with their aunts.

Lucas gets a haircut!

I have been trying to upload the video of this but Blogger is not taking it for some reason. So there are no photos of the actual haircut..it was all on video. Anyway, here he is with his new cut..not as drastic as last time. I think it took us a month and a half to get to this point last time.

Even tough we told them MULTIPLE times that this was not his first haircut, they gave us this certificate...I think to justify the fact that we paid more for Lucas' haircut than I do for mine.

After the haircut the twins were enjoying the nice fall weather.

What she is trying to halt here, I am not too sure. But the way, ping pong balls and golf balls are all the rage in our house these days.

We also went to WalMart to get some hair trimmers so next time we can do Lucas' haircut at home now that we know which setting we like. We stopped off at the Christmas/Halloween section and got signs to plant in the yard so that Santa knows to stop at our house.

Then it was home to a nice warm fire which heated the whole house....nice!

City scenes...

No pics of the kids today..instead, some pictures of NYC at night these days. Felix and I took a date night in the city. We met for dinner and went to the Knicks game last night.

Macy's tree is already lit...

Empire State Building...

Our seats were pretty high up, but it was a lot of fun. The Knicks won too!
