To the beach!

With the warm weather disappearing real soon, we are trying to make the most of the nice days. The beach is always an easy favorite...

Yum!

Our kids love vegetables, especially any form of beans and carrots. Liliana got caught red-handed here...not to worry, pot had been off the burner for quite some time and was not hot.

Just kicking back..

It's been a long few weeks and for the last three weekends straight we have been jam-packed. This whole weekend we had nothing to do and so it looks for the next 3 weeks, which to us is amazing. I am sure the calendar will get filled somehow, but until then...we are just laying low and chilling out. (maybe we will watch some football! :-) )

Dinner with Elmo

Lucas has formed an unbelievable attachment to Elmo in the last week. We went to a tag sale up the street and found this little Elmo for $1. He takes it everywhere. Felix was out the other night and while I getting the kids dinner, Elmo's presence was requested at the table...so there they sat, having dinner with him.

Puppies!

No we are not getting a dog...no we are not even considering getting a dog. But they just opened this new store down the road where they sell puppies and since the twins love dogs, I took them down there today with my friend Yesi who has two twin boys of her own.

Liliana waving to the dogs...

Afterwards we went to the nearby lot to watch and listen to the Norwalk High Marching band practice...its a lot of work being in a marching band...I have a whole new respect.

Mark, Derek, Lucas and Liliana.

Surprise...

Vicki and the girls are with us and while we were out at school and work, they left us a great message on the bathroom wall. Check it out...

Here they are proud of their work....

And here are the twins enjoying the new artwork in the tub.

Back on track...

This week was a tough one. First full week of going to Andrea's, Felix and I at work and I think all the new germs we were exposed to and brought home to the twins did us in. They were sick for the latter part of the week, as was I. But now we are feeling much better. Laid low today (thank you Liliana and Lucas for sleeping in until 8 am) Went to the park for some fresh air in the afternoon (while we aired out their room) and had a very relaxing evening.

Felix just purchased some new DVDs for the kids in Spanish. Half an hour before bath or bedtime and it works perfectly. We try to get them to sit on these pillows and they watch their show. It keeps them from a) touching the buttons on the tv...and b) sitting so close to the tv that they will go blind. They seem to like it.

Mead Park...

We went to this park over the summer. I like it because it has an enclosed area for toddlers, which is very helpful when you are at the park alone with two kids running in opposite directions. It's amazing to see how much they have grown and how much more they are capable of doing just a few months later.

Not too sure what this pose it all about....

My children insist on going up slides the wrong way...but no one was at the toddler park today, so I let them have fun.

Block Party!

This weekend our street along with about four other streets that make up our circle of a neighborhood got together for a block party.

Here Liliana is trying to pull the other set of twins, who live right around the block from us. They are just four months older than Lucas and Liliana and their names are Lucas and Josephine.

Feeding Ellen's dog Duff...kids have been feeding dogs a lot lately...

We also walked to church this morning with Ellen and they got to feed Duff again!

The little guy walking around, enjoying his new found freedom.

Big guy, little guy...that's our neighbor Dale...

Lucas had fun just hanging out by himself in the street

Liliana admiring Ellen and Gordon's new fish pond.

Big Kid Breakfast...

I think we are done with the high chairs....did I just say that? It seems impossible, but the twins are more than capable of sitting in their booster seats at the table. We folded the leaf in so we can actually sit as a family at the table. It's a little messier these days, but it is nice to have them at the table.

p.s. check out Liliana's bed head!

Happy Labor Day!

On Sunday we went to the Scarpa's house for a BBQ. Julie and Dan were in from Seattle and they are expecting late Jan. early Feb....very close to a birthday I know of. Wouldn't that be funny. Anyway, families and babies were everywhere that day and the weather could not have been better.

Here Lucas and I are on the beach...he had the whole thing to himself for a little while. So peaceful and content just to sit there and play.

Dave and Trixie came down to join us.

And the girls played on the beach.

The boys taking a stroll. One with no shirt, one with no pants...together they make a complete outfit.
After we came up from the beach we changed into new clothes and the twins had fun feeding their dinner to the Scarpa's dog.

And look who got a hold of Papi's phone....

The park...

We love Bruce Park down in Greenwich and so we took advantage of a lovely Saturday afternoon to meet up with the Dorrian boys and Nana for a few hours.

Boston

On Monday we headed up to Boston to see Vicki and the girls before their departure to Japan! (We also got to pick up their car that they are letting us use since they can't take it to Japan...thanks guys!)

We met at their hotel and then took a water taxi (so fun!) over to the harbor.

What a view from our boat...it was a warm day, but it was beautiful.

We enjoyed lunch outdoors at Joe's...

Then we went to Quincy Market and Faneuil (sp?) Hall

This man was performing on a unicycle playing bagpipes...

Lucas and the birds.....

Very New England.....
