Out of town

We leave at 3 am tomorrow for our first official family vacation. It's 11:30 p.m. I should really be in bed. We will not be posting until our return on August 1st. So to all you loyal blog followers out there...we are officially on hiatus. Wish us well. No doubt we will have lots to share on our return. Adios!

Lazy summer days

Liliana has decided it is time for her to hold her own bottle. She is getting quite good at it. Can't succesfully make it through a whole feeding on her own, but she is getting better!

See there we got the whole bottle in the pic.

Liliana keeps reaching all these milestones first. But rest assured when Lucas reaches them, we will post as well.
Below are some video of the twins. Right now there is an interesting dynamic between the two. They are beginning to really react to the other. Also, Liliana is able to roll over while Lucas is not, so most times, she has rolled over and is looking at him. In this one, she tries to eat his head.

It is with a heavy heart that we make this posting. On Friday morning, Felix's Aunt Miquin died suddenly after suffering a stroke on Thursday afternoon. This loss came as a sudden shock to the whole family. From the moment Felix introduced me to his family, Miquin was always so warm and welcoming. Always a smile on her face, she enjoyed being surrounded by family and many a Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve were spent at her house as she cooked and celebrated with all of us. She is survived by her husband Walfrido, her son and daughter, three grandchildren and three siblings-Felix's mother being one of them. It is with deep regret that our children will not have the chance to grow up knowing Miquin. Our hearts and prayers are with her husband and her children. We will miss you deeply Miquin.

Time to rest up

Well, it's official..Lucas is a little sick. Nothing major. He had been coughing since the weekend and we thought it was probably just a cold, but the doctor suggested that we bring him in considering that we are leaving for vacation next week. So we brought them both in today...and it was just that..a minor cold. Lungs are clear, ears are clear...so from now until next Tuesday, the twins will just rest up and from the looks of things...they are quite good at doing that!

A big weekend

These past few days have been a bit busy. Felix was playing golf with a friend on Friday, so I took the twins down to Greenwich and Nana and I took the twins on their first Island Beach Ferry ride, a big tradition in the Sullivan family!

Nana and Lucas

View from the back of the boat

The beach when we arrived at the dock...

Liliana in her hat that Nana gave her, which we decided looks more like a sombrero at this point...

Chillin' at Nana's after the boat...

Before going home we went to visit friends of Nana's..Helen and Joey.

On Saturday, my friend Beth came down from the Hartford area with her two kids and while Liliana stayed home with Felix, Lucas and I went to the Norwalk Aquarium with them.

These frogs are like a little bigger than the siz of a quarter..they were unreal! I think they said they were poisonous..that's why it has such vibrant colors.

The ugliest fish I ever saw.

The jellyfish tank

And of course the shark tank...the kids LOVED this one.

It's been a busy few days. This week I think we will all just rest up for a big trip..we leave in seven days!

3rd Anniversary!

Today is our 3rd wedding anniversary! Felix and I had planned to take the twins to the beach in the afternoon and have a picnic dinner with them there in the evening. But alas, it was too cold today..barely made it to 70 which means at the beach it would be 60 something. So we opted for an alternative. We took the kids to Bertucci's with us..they have a nice outdoor patio and the twins slept in the carriage for most of dinner and we dined outside. It was nice..not fancy, but who are with is more important than where you are, right?

Below are pics from our wedding. We seem to have misplaced the disc with all our photos. It used to be in the office and then the office turned into the nursery and I can't find where I put the pictures. So Felix suggested I just take pictures of the album..which we love by the way. So that is why they are a little blurry, and there are creases here and there!!! Haha!

This was our Christmas card the first year as a married couple...

The background of Whitby Castle where we were married...what a magical night!

And finally, can't sign off without a shot out to the twins. Finally caught Liliana rolling over! Enjoy!

some things never change...another fun look back

Here is a pic of Lucas in his bouncy chair today. Of course he is eating his hand.

And here is Lucas(on the right) a few months ago with his sister in the same chair...hard to imagine that they both fit once. Of course, he was eating his hands way back then too!

Just relaxing around the house

Well, she did it! Liliana is now rolling over. I actually haven't seen it yet, but I put this child down on her back after her feeding earlythis morning and when I went in around 8am to check on them before going to Stew's to get breakfast, this is what I found. She had completely rolled over. Felix has seen it, but for me, not yet. The only problem with this is that now when she wakes up she cries since she is "stuck" on her stomach. When she wakes up on her back, she just plays, tries endlessly to grab her feet, that sort of thing. So, her ability to entertain herself has diminished quite a bit. But good job little lady!

Lucas is still working on it...he's about half way there.

And after breakfast this morning, Liliana was sleeping while Felix and Lucas played together in the living room. What a happy little boy!

Happy 4th of July!

Well, it's been a busy few days. As you know we took the twins to central park yesterday morning. We brought them home and let them rest. In the evening we went to this party that was given by a friend of ours from church. He lives right on the water, has a beautiful terrace, and for a small (voluntary) donation to the Norwalk Historical Society (a cause he is greatly involved with) you enjoy free food and drinks, live music, and a view of not only Norwalk's fireworks but also those of neighboring Westport...all from his terrace. It was a great night.

Today we went to Felix's aunt's house and enjoyed a great time with the extended family, listening to great music, playing dominos and enjoying the amazing weather. Afterwards, we stopped by at a BBQ of a friend of Felix's from work. It was a Luau themed party and there was lots of fun to be had.

Needless to say, we are a bit worn out. We brought the twins home, fed them and changed them and they are sleeping soundly tonight. Once it got dark, our neighbors on the corner entertained us with a fireworks display. I think someone in their extended family is in the pyrotechnic business, because they are some serious fireworks...not the kind you just blow up in the street. It seems to be a tradition with the family, since we have seen it every year since we moved here. Enjoy the pics and video.

First Country Music Concert!

GMA has this summer concert series and yesterday I found out that this week's performer was Brad Paisley. Since Felix and I will probably not make it to many concerts this year, we thought it would be fun to go down to the city and see him. It's in Central Park and free. So we woke up at five, got the kids packed, grabbed some breakfast on the road and headed down. Here are some pics from the day/

At the entrance to the concert.

There were bleachers where we were able to sit, which was nice.

Liliana and I walking around after her breakfast.

Brad warming up. This was a different type of concert. He probably was on stage for an hour, played about 6 songs. But they had to be in between commercials and the GMA regular broadcast so it wasn't continuous..but Brad was nice and talked to the crowd in between.

The GMA morning crew. Actually only Sam Champion (the weatherman on the left) is part of the regular crew. The other two Michelle Vargas (from 20/20) and this other guy (I forget his name) were filling in for Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts. I watch GMA every morning as I have breakfast. I would have liked to have seen Diane and Robin (I get so star struck even if it just around news anchors! LOL!)

After breakfast, the food coma set in for Liliana, just as Brad was playing.

And then Lucas was out too.

Felix was a saint and held BOTH of them as I ran to the bathroom.

It was a beautiful morning. FINALLY some nice weather! (Actually, it hasn't been all that bad lately)

Brad's bus, or at least I thought it was. Felix made a good point and said it could be the GMA's anchors' bus. But I like to think it was Brad's. The GMA anchors can come over in vans, I say.

Here is a small clip of the performance..sorry it is so shaky.

It was such a fun morning. We are lucky that Liliana and Lucas are such troopers. We have such good babies...such good babies!

Let summer begin...

Felix finished work today...yeah!!!! Just some fun pics.

Liliana accompanied me as I took a walk up to Stew's to buy some rolls for our hot dogs and sausages tonight on the grill. It's quite a workout hiking up that hill with a kid strapped to you!
